PRESCOTT CREEKS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
• Responsibilities: The Prescott Creeks Board of Directors is a group of volunteers legally responsible for making sure the organization remains true to its mission, safeguarding the organization's assets, and that Prescott Creeks operates in the public interest.
• Skills and personal characteristics desired: Ability to: listen; analyze; think clearly and creatively; and work well with individual people and groups. Willingness to: prepare for and attend board and committee meetings; ask questions, take responsibility and follow through with assignments; contribute personal and financial resources in a generous way according to circumstances; open doors in the community; evaluate oneself; advise the Executive Director; make tough decisions. Possess: honesty; sensitivity and openness to differing views a friendly, responsive; and patient approach; community-building skills; personal integrity; a developed sense of values; concern for your nonprofits development; a sense of humor. Willingness to develop certain skills if you do not already posses them, such as to : cultivate and solicit funds; cultivate and recruit board members and other volunteers; read and understand financial statements; learn more about the substantive program area of the organization or the community they serve.
• Time Commitment: Directors are elected to a 2-year term and commit to a minimum of 6 hours of service to Prescott Creeks during each month.
•Compensation: Serving on the Prescott Creeks Board of Directors is strictly a volunteer position.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS
• Responsibilities: The field crews need help. Committee members
needed to plan, organize, research and recruit for events, field
work, etc. throughout the year. Tasks vary to guide activities.
• Skills Needed: A willingness to commit to organizing specific
Prescott Creeks events. Detail-oriented a must.
• Time Commitment: Time commitment varies depending on event.

OFFICE MANAGER & ASSISTANT
• Responsibilities: General office management including, but not
limited to filing, organizing and completing office projects such as
data entry of membership and volunteer information; archiving,
copying, sorting, and categorizing slides and photographs (both
hard copy and digital); editing and making report corrections and
some phone follow up work.
• Skills Desired: Strong organizational skills will be essential for this
position. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently
will also be helpful. For many projects the office manager
will have a proficiency using Microsoft Word and some familiarity
with computer database operations.
• Time Commitment: Up to approximately 10 hours per week as a
volunteer or up to 25 hours per week as work-study position .
• Compensation: Volunteer with the possibility of leading to a work-study position if funding is secured.

CREEKS RESEARCHER
• Responsibilities: Research the history of Prescott's local creeks.
Conduct literature-based research and personal interviews with
community members with local knowledge of the Prescott area.
Collect creek-related historical facts and stories from local resources
and compile this information into a written narrative for use in publications
(i.e. Prescott Creeks newsletter, Courier, etc.).
• Skills Needed: Interest in doing in-depth research and enjoyment
in interviewing unusual community members.
• Time Commitment: Up to 8 hours per week as a volunteer or up to 12
hours per week as work-study position.
• Compensation: Volunteer with the possibility of leading to a
work-study position if funding is secured.

WEBSITE DEVELOPER
• Responsibilities: Update site navigational characteristics; update
the site with relevant information (such as meeting notices & minutes,
volunteer opportunities, project resources, etc.) at regularly
scheduled intervals. Redesigning and increasing functionality of current
website including, but not limited to: developing the capability
to receive money directly instead of through Paypal; integrating calendar
formats; creating interactive systems for registration of events;
completion of volunteer applications, surveys and/or timesheets;
create processes for submitting information about problems and/or
violations or post collected field data, etc.
• Skills Desired: Proficiency with the use of website authoring computer
software, graphics programs, and MS Office 2003 software.
• Time Commitment: Up to approximately 8 hours per week as a
volunteer or up to 15 hours per week as work-study position.
