Rambling River

Rambling River is a trailer-based watershed model and stream table funded by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. Rambling River is an educational tool designed to demonstrate issue-based watershed scenarios to groups of all ages and affiliations. We're very excited to share the stream table with schools, community groups, municipalities, engineers, and any group that's interested in learning about watershed and stream dynamics.

The model is completely self-contained and can be powered by a regular household electrical outlet or the on-board deep-cycle battery. Recirculated water can flow at various rates across the bed of sand-like media specifically made for stream tables from recycled plastic. Rambling River is equipped to demonstrate a range of watershed features including pollution sources and movement, flooding, stream-crossing safety, and development considerations, along with stream dynamics including meander formation, alluvial deposition, groundwater movement, erosion control, and more.

With Rambling River, we're using fun to impart knowledge!
