Here's your chance to volunteer for Fossil Creek, Arizona's second Wild & Scenic River (there's only 2 in AZ!). One of Arizona's most beautiful and most popular streams, Fossil Creek will need some TLC after the long Labor Day holiday weekend.

April! I am so ready for warm weather. Not that it has anything to do with Watson Woods Preserve, but on Saturday (April 2), Kris (my wife and our office manager) and I took a ride on our motorcycle out to Skull Valley for lunch and scenery. It was the first time in about two months that our bike even had been started! It was a great way to spend a spring afternoon.
After getting back from spring break week in the North West, I'm a little water-jealous. I had to opportunity to view rivers as wide as our lakes flowing with snow-melt and spring rains. Prescott may not have the same sort of large, perennially flowing rivers, but we do have nine creeks and many tributaries throughout the Prescott area that make this a beautiful place to live or visit.

Most days I walk to the office along the Greenways trails passing Miller and Butte Creeks. In my travels I often pass birds, dogs, college students hurrying to class, high school students in less of a hurry, and an interesting variety of trash.

Prescott Creeks is seeking entries for a logo to represent the 2011 Granite Creek Cleanup on April 23, 2011. Every year hundreds of area residents and visitors participate in making Prescott a better place for all of us by removing tons of trash from local creeks, floodplains, and lakes. Your logo could help to make this an even more memorable event for everyone.
