Dr. Dave Walker from UA scouts out the perfect location for the limnocorrals. 4 limnocorrals were installed - 2 in the shallow, southern end of the lake, and 2 in the deeper, northern end of the lake.
An anchor (a 5-gal bucket filled with concrete) goes in! Each set of limncorrals required 4 anchors pulling in opposing directions to hold the float rings in place.
The 2 floatation rings are anchored at the surface in all four directions to avoid the top from moving around. These anchors are 4, 5 gallon buckets full of concrete secured with a rope.
Dr. Walker (in the water) helps guide the accordion-fold limnocorral through the float ring at the surface. The limnocorrals have roughly 80% ambient light transparency. They attach to the float ring at the surface and have a stainless steel ring at the bottom that creates a seal with the bottom sediments.
