2008 Watershed Agenda

Watson Woods Riparian Preserve Restoration - 2008 marks a landmark year for Prescott Creeks as we initiate on-the-ground efforts to functionally restore the riparian ecosystem at Watson Woods.

Open Space Management - A long standing challenge for the City of Prescott. Prescott Creeks is in a unique position to assist the City with the management of open space.

Watershed Monitoring & Planning - With funding from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality in 2005 Prescott Creeks began monitoring the Upper Granite Creek Watershed condition and water quality. The effort will continue (with the addition of macroinvertebrate monitoring this year) and stakeholders will be engaged to address water quality issues in the watershed.

Water Quality Improvements - Numerous projects are underway or planned to improve our water quality. They range from the restoration of Watson Woods Riparian Preserve to the reconstruction of a stormwater detention basin at the entrance to the Preserve. Farther upstream storm drains are being marked in the downtown and Prescott Creeks is developing best management practices for small farm and ranch property owners.

Your support will allow Prescott Creeks to complete this agenda, and it will demonstrate the community's commitment to healthy riparian areas and clean water in the Granite Creek Watershed.

Please take a moment to read our 2007 Year-End letter and consider making a contribution by either returning the attached form, or by clicking one of the links to the left.

Thank you,
Everyone at Prescott Creeks
